It is a privilege to make a note on this occasion where the entity of development of children, has been surfaced over many issues encountered in the province.

The Child Development Foundation is an organization established in the Department of Probation and Child Care within the legal framework of North Central Provincial Council (NCPC) of Sri Lanka.
The said organization is managed by a board of members, appointed by the Honorable Minister of Heath, Probation and Child Care of NCPC. The management body comprises of 5 members. And the finances of the CDF are auditable by the government (Conti.......)
Over a period of time, the minds of the children in the Northern part of Sri Lanka, were traumatized due to the war existed there, for nearly 30 years. However with the establishment of peace in the northern part of Sri Lanka, the demand to ensure the rights and freedom of children has surfaced as a priority.
The Department of Probation and Child Care of the North Central Province serves its functions, in five judiciary zones in the province, namely Anuradhapura, Thambuttegama, Kekirawa, Kebithigollewa and Polonnaruwa.
The focused area comprises of a population of 1.1 million with the child population of below 18 years being 0.35 million.
The Department of Probation and Child Care takes care of 14 Homes for children sheltering, nearly 700 children, out of which two homes are management directly by the government. (Conti....)
The crisis of the space in these homes, is a matter to be addressed with urgency. As the existing homes have capacity for only 325 children. Due to crisis of limited space, the quality of care given to the children in these homes, has declined. (Conti.......)
In constructing a home for children
The problem of limited space in home for children reflects on the educational environment causing unsuitable limited space available for studying. In addition this problem of space reflects unfavorably to the privacy of to the girls in these homes.
The CDF Intends to construct a home for children urgently inorder to deliver a quality care for children in NCP.
